Ménière’s Disease Dietician Dr. Ramona Ramdath

I’m So Glad You’re Here

I’m excited to connect with you and become part of your Meniere’s Disease journey. Before we dive in, let me share a little about myself, my background, my training, and why this work is personal to me.

My Background

I was born and raised in the Caribbean, though my favorite climate is the desert.  I’ve always been driven by a deep curiosity about people, the human body, and the powerful connection between what we eat and how we feel.

These interests are part of what inspired my multinational educational pursuits, which took me across three countries and gave me a research-grounded, whole-person view of chronic illness.

Academic Credentials

My RD credential means I completed accredited supervised practice and passed the national credentialing exam administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the standard that qualifies a Dietitian to provide Medical Nutrition Therapy.

My doctoral training gave me a research-level understanding of human physiology and disease mechanisms, the foundation I now draw on to translate current science into practical, individualized Meniere’s dietary strategies.

This graduate work sharpened my understanding of how nutrients function at a cellular level, which directly informs how I think about diet’s role in inner ear fluid balance and inflammation.

My undergraduate studies laid the scientific groundwork for everything that followed.

Together, this combination of clinical dietetics training and biomedical research education is what allows me to bridge the science with real, everyday guidance; not just general advice, but a science-based approach tailored to Meniere’s Disease.

Making my practice a welcoming space is my top priority, and clients often describe me as warm, positive, and genuinely easy to talk to.

Why I Became a Meniere’s Disease Dietitian

The link between food and health has always fascinated me, but Meniere’s dietary therapy is personal. My husband’s roller coaster ride with Meniere’s Disease opened my eyes to how isolating and confusing this disease is.

My Approach

I have designed my own methods to help Meniere’s sufferers improve their symptomsMy treatment methodology is unique, though grounded in biomedical research, and shaped by my real life experiences with Meniere’s Disease.

Using my methods, I create a science-based dietary and biomedical action plan for every client. Electrolyte balancing is important, though only one component of my larger action plan.

No two Meniere’s action plans are the same, as no two Meniere’s sufferers are the same.  My goal is to help clients improve their Meniere’s symptoms and overall health using a customized comprehensive approach.

Though I cannot guarantee results, almost all of my clients report improvement in their Meniere’s Disease symptoms after following my action plan.

Outside of Work

I enjoy mystery novels, puzzles, traveling, and nature.  I express my creativity through experimenting in the kitchen and it remains one of my favorite ways to unwind.

An Interesting Fact about Me

I’ve lived in 5 countries and 5 different U.S. states and I enjoy creating low-sodium meals inspired by global flavors!
